HGSS: Get Shiny Entei, Raikou, Suicune!

Recently announced on official Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver site, it seems that you will be able to get yourself a set of cool Shiny Legendary Pokemon in an upcoming distribution in January and February 2011! It is only for the North American versions of Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver, and it is available only at participating GameStop stores.

What do you get, you ask?

From January 3rd -- January 9th, you can get yourself a Shiny Raikou.
From January 17th -- January 23rd, you can receive a Shiny Entei.
From January 31st -- February 6th, you can pick up a Shiny Suicune.

All of these can be obtained by selecting Mystery Gift when nearby a GameStop store and then selecting Get via Wireless.

Not only are they cool shiny versions of some pretty sweet legendary Pokemon, but they also have a lot of other special things about them! All three of them know the distribution-exclusive move (for these three, at least) ExtremeSpeed, giving them a lot of extra oomph at breakneck speed! That may be particularly useful for Entei in specific due to its high Attack. The trio also each know another special move they can't otherwise learn: Raikou comes with Weather Ball; Entei comes with Flare Blitz (nice!); and Suicune knows Sheer Cold. All three come in a Cherish Ball and have the Classic Ribbon, like all of the other distribution Pokemon.

Another thing that makes collecting the set very important is that you can transfer them to your North American Black or White version to unlock a side quest leading you to a Zoroark! Yes, that is particularly useful! So be sure to keep up with those three distributions and pick up your set of the shiny legendaries so you can get yourself a Zoroark when Black and White are released!

Speaking of which, even though it's no surprise, Zoroark and Zorua are both the official English names for those two Pokemon. Again, no real surprise or anything, but it's nice to have more confirmation on other Pokemon's names.

As for Pokemon Black and White, there's also a Wi-Fi distribution going on that will net you an Egg containing either a Kibago, Mamepato, or Yanappu with a good nature and perfect IVs in either Attack, Sp. Atk, or Speed (depending on the Pokemon), so they'll definitely turn out to be pretty fierce if properly trained. They're meant to coincide with the Pokemon Black and White Anime series running in Japan: Best Wishes. Anyway, this distribution lasts until January 11th, so if you have the Japanese version of the game, head on Wi-Fi and pick it up now!
